Mum’s Choir is a story of a family on the journey between death and burial, complete with the laughter, singing and tears that are inevitable companions on that road. In the wake of their mother’s passing the siblings gather in their childhood home to plan mum’s final exit and fulfil mum’s final wish, that they sing Faure’s requiem at her funeral.

Over three days the siblings run the gambit of emotions as they take on the responsibility of getting this important milestone just right. A play with music, Mum’s Choir takes the audience through the celebration of a life well lived, underscored by waves of grief, while hitting all the right notes.

"Sadness prevails. Disputes surface. Laughter punctuates the gloom. Mum used to get them all to sing so it is only right and fitting that they sing Faure's Requiem at the funeral. But before that, the audience are treated to waves of musical nostalgia as the Andrews Sisters compete with Dean Martin and tears jostle with joy.” Ralph McAllister - May 21st 2004
