Venue Hire

The Woolshed Theatre is available for hire for events. We will do our best to accommodate your preferred dates but availability is determined by our production schedule and other bookings. Find out more about what facilities are available, or contact us below for further information.

Auditorium

The auditorium seats 96 on elevated seating, with capacity for a further 16 at floor level, a total maximum capacity of 112. Accessible seating is available as part of the floor level capacity.

Backstage

Three dressing rooms are available for us, all contain a single toilet and wash basin. One dressing room also contains a shower.

Kitchen Facilities

The kitchen is also available for use, with ample cutlery, plates etc. A servery from the kitchen opens directly into the auditorium.

Furniture

A small assortment of tables are available ranging in size from large trestles to smaller tables.

Technical Equipment

The theatre is equipped with a range of lighting, sound and vision equipment. Hirers can use technicians provided by the Society or bring in their own approved technician.

Bar Facilities

The theatre contains a bar with servery into the auditorium. This facility may be available on request. The hirer is responsible for obtaining necessary licenses' and manager requirements.

A standard lighting rig is in place, any special requirements will need to be arranged.

There are some spare fixtures available for rigging, along with ladders.

Hirers are expected to provide their own gels and tape unless otherwise arranged.

A standard sound rig is in place, with headset microphones available, and one handheld microphone.

A specific set up (such as choir mics) will require prior arrangement.

Vision Equipment (Extra Charges apply)

Two projectors are rigged in the theatre. One faces the stage and projects onto a small screen that drops down in front of the main curtain. This is primarily used before a show and at interval for advertising. Please note this projector uses VGA input.

A main projector projects onto the back cyclorama of the stage. Please note this projector requires HDMI input.

Technical Expertise (Extra charges apply)

Hirers may arrange for a technician through the Society to provide technical expertise for their event, hirers must compensate technicians separately to the hireage.

Alternatively, hirers may use their own technician, but an induction to the building will be required prior to the event.

Theatre Hire (Full day 6+ hours) $250.00

Minimum Hire (1-6 hours) $120.00

Technician (per person, per hour) $25.00

Hirers Information

The hirer is responsible for all Fire Warden duties in the event of an emergency
Someone must remain in the Foyer/Front of House Area at all times
If use of the technical equipment is required, the technician(s) must be inducted and approved by TALOS. Alternately, a technician can be provided by TALOS, at a rate of $25 per hour. All technical requirements need to be specified in writing and submitted with the hire form.
It is the hirers responsibility to ensure the Theatre is left as they found it, including cleaning and any furniture that may have been used. Cleaning supplies can be found in the kitchen cupboard, the vacuum cleaner in the box office. If the theatre is not left in an appropriate condition, or there is a specific issue (i.e. stain on carpet), TALOS reserve the right to charge an extra cleaning fee.
If the hirer wishes to view the space before the date of hiring, this must be arranged a minimum of 48 hours prior to the hire date.
